The Mosaique way
Every journey begins with a feeling
Before a single flight is booked, we listen for the feeling you are chasing: the hush of a tiled courtyard at dawn, the warmth of a shared plov, the vastness of the Kyzylkum at dusk. For over a decade we have turned those feelings into private, expertly guided journeys along the Silk Road.

Discover the journeyWhat we do, and why
Founded to share the Silk Road we love
Mosaique began with two friends who kept returning to Uzbekistan and wanted to share it the way they had come to know it, through the people, the craft, and the quiet moments between the monuments.
The pursuit of feeling
Travel that moves you, not just transports you
Anyone can move you from A to B. We design for the moment your shoulders drop and the place takes hold of you: the call to prayer over Bukhara, the cool of a madrasa courtyard, tea poured by someone who now knows your name.

Our guide to Silk Road travel
The Silk Road, done properly
Luxury here is not marble and gold. It is a private guide who reads your pace, a courtyard guesthouse booked end to end, a table set inside a historic caravanserai. We tailor every day to how you like to travel, then stay one step ahead so you never feel the logistics.

Frequently asked questions
Is Uzbekistan safe?
Yes. Uzbekistan is considered one of the safest destinations in Central Asia and is known for its warm hospitality. Travellers generally feel comfortable exploring, both independently and with a guide. As anywhere, we recommend normal precautions and keeping an eye on personal belongings in busy areas.
Do I need a visa?
Visa requirements depend on your nationality. Many countries can enter Uzbekistan visa-free for a certain period, while others are eligible for an e-visa. We will gladly advise you on the entry requirements for your passport and help with the necessary information before your trip.
When is the best time to visit Uzbekistan?
Uzbekistan is a year-round destination, and every season offers a different experience. Spring (March–May): mild temperatures, blooming landscapes, and ideal sightseeing. Summer (June–August): hot and sunny, with long days. Autumn (September–November): pleasant temperatures, colourful scenery, and harvest season. Winter (December–February): fewer tourists, a festive atmosphere, and nearby mountain resorts.
What is the weather like?
Uzbekistan has a continental climate with hot summers and cool winters. Spring: 15–30°C (59–86°F). Summer: 30–46°C (86–108°F). Autumn: 15–30°C (59–86°F). Winter: -5–10°C (23–50°F), depending on the region. Weather varies between desert, valleys, and mountains, so we provide personalised packing recommendations before departure.
What should I wear?
Comfortable clothing and walking shoes are recommended, as many historic sites are explored on foot. In warmer months, lightweight breathable clothing is ideal, with a light jacket for cooler evenings in spring and autumn; in winter, warm layers and a coat. There is no strict dress code for tourists, though modest clothing is appreciated at religious sites — covering shoulders and knees is generally sufficient.
Can I customise every itinerary?
Absolutely. Every journey we create is tailor-made. Destinations, travel pace, hotel category, activities, transport, and cultural experiences can all be adjusted to your interests, schedule, and budget.
Are solo travellers welcome?
Of course. We design personalised journeys for solo travellers, couples, families, and private groups. Whether you seek cultural discovery, photography, gastronomy, or adventure, we will create an itinerary that matches your travel style.
Can dietary requirements be accommodated?
Yes. Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, halal, and other dietary preferences or allergies can usually be accommodated. Please let us know your requirements in advance so we can make the necessary arrangements throughout your journey.
What languages do your guides speak?
Our guides are fluent in English, and guides speaking other languages — including French, German, Spanish, Italian, Russian, Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Turkish, and more — can be arranged on request, subject to availability.
What currency is used in Uzbekistan?
The official currency is the Uzbekistani Som (UZS). Major currencies such as Euros (EUR), US Dollars (USD), and British Pounds (GBP) can be exchanged easily at banks, hotels, and official exchange offices. International Visa and Mastercard are accepted in many hotels, restaurants, and larger shops, while carrying some cash is recommended for local markets and smaller businesses.
Can I use credit cards?
Yes. Credit and debit cards are widely accepted in major cities, hotels, and many restaurants. We still recommend carrying some cash when visiting smaller towns, bazaars, or rural areas where card payments may not always be available.
How do we travel between cities?
Uzbekistan has an excellent transport network. Depending on your itinerary, travel may include the modern high-speed train, domestic flights, or comfortable private vehicles with professional drivers. We select the most efficient and comfortable option for each part of your journey.
Is airport transfer included?
Yes. All our tailor-made journeys include airport, railway station, and hotel transfers, ensuring a smooth, stress-free experience from arrival to departure.
Why choose a tailor-made journey instead of a standard tour?
Unlike fixed group tours, our journeys are designed exclusively for you — built around your interests, preferred pace, flight schedule, accommodation style, and budget. This lets you experience Uzbekistan in a more personal, flexible, and meaningful way, without following a rigid group schedule.
